Ducati leads on Friday

Casey Stoner was the fastest man in Friday's free practice sessions. The Ducati rider was over a second ahead of his team-mate Loris Capirossi who set the second fastest laptime. John Hopkins set the third fastest time with his Rizla Suzuki.

Championship leader Valentino Rossi seemed to have a relaxed day. The Italian, who never won the race in Turkey before, set the fourth fastest lap time. Fifth time was set by Toni Elias. Elias had a moment in Friday's second free practice session when he touched with Stoner as the Australian overtook him. Stoner was not amused.

World champion Nicky Hayden had a difficult start of his Turkish Grand Prix weekend. He ended fourteenth in today's second free practice session.
