Melandri sees Turkish three-feat as tough task

10 April 2007

Marco Melandri has been the only winner at the Istanbul Park circuit since the Turkish track welcomed MotoGP in 2005.

The Italian took victory at the first ever Turkish Grand Prix, and repeated the feat last year from 14th on the grid.

However, despite his pedigree at the circuit, Melandri is none too optimistic about his chances of making it a hat-trick of wins at this year's race. It is well known that the Italian isn't completely satisfied with the start to his season, and he commented on another Turkish triumph at the next round.

"We have to improve the fine tuning of the bike a lot, and this is something that is worrying me at the present time. I definitely can't think about winning at Istanbul, I see that as being very difficult", said the former MotoGP World Championship runner-up.
