Pedrosa snatches pole

Pedrosa snatches pole

24 March 2007 / Results / Photos

Dani Pedrosa stole pole for his Repsol Honda Team with a best of 1:39.402s. Moreover, Carlos Checa was third fastest to ensure that the Spanish crowd has more than one rider at the sharp end to cheer on. Valentino Rossi will be sandwiched between the two in second place for the Fiat Yamaha Team whilst his team-mate Colin Edwards will slot in at fourth.

The top four all came within a tenth of a second of each other showing how close it is at the top in Jerez this weekend. Indeed, the last five minutes were exciting with it looking like anyone could snatch pole at the last second. Edwards came close to securing his first ever pole before Pedrosa spoiled the party.

Championship leader Caset Stoner will be starting from fifth place for the Ducati Marlboro Team and he'll be starting alongside American John Hopkins who was sixth quickest.
