Checa fastest on Friday

After seeing Kenny Roberts jr. fastest in Friday's first free practice it was Carlos Checa who topped the timesheets in Jerez in the second free practice session. The LCR Honda rider set a fastest time of 1.40.851, right ahead of Pedrosa and Elias.

The second free practice session got underway at 14.00 hours local time. The local hero's were the fastest riders today. Carlos Checa, Dani Pedrosa and Toni Elias, the only three Spaniards in this year's MotoGP season, were first, second and third.

Qatar Grand Prix winner Casey Stoner set the fourth fastest lap time this afternoon, right ahead of his main title rival Valentino Rossi. World champion Nicky Hayden finished in 13th and will most likely face another difficult weekend.
