Scot Racing pulls out of championship

11 November 2009

The Scot Racing team has announced on Wednesday that it will not be present on the MotoGP grid next year. The outfit which carried Hiroshi Aoyama to the 250cc crown in Valencia on Sunday is left feeling let down after a meeting of a deadline meant Honda would not be able to deliver its 2010 challenger in time.

Having fielded just the one bike for Gabor Talmacsi in what turned out to be the team's final MotoGP race in Valencia, Scot's presence on the grid will only be in the shape of its Moto2 bike in 2010, the class which takes over from 250cc.

"After the happiness for the conquest of the World Championship in the 250cc class, for me and for the whole team this is a great disappointment and no reward for all the work done over the years," Team Manager Cirano Mularoni said. "Now we just have to concentrate on the Moto2 project."

Wednesday's news is also a disaster for San Marino's Alex de Angelis, who had a deal in place to ride with Scot for the upcoming campaign.
